Building with the room for luck!

We've been working, having strategies sessions, and setting the tone for the year.

It’s a new year, and this year we are building with the room for luck…
Plans are being made, 2022 is the year of doing the most, and everybody is pumped up…

Luck is defined as success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions. Note, the definition says Success or Failure.
Meaning we can have Goodluck and also have bad luck.

Why do we say Goodluck,
it means, I hope as you go about your day, something good comes your way.
Good luck is wishful thinking.

Let’s use Zoom, the popular video conferencing app as an example.
Quick Question?
Before the plague, did you know zoom???
I dont think so…

ZOOM was almost an unknown company,
now Zoom is worth multiple billions of dollars,
Luck played a huge role in Zoom’s greatness.
Imagine if zoom was only available to Americans,
nobody but Americans can download and sign up on Zoom. They wouldn’t have been as big as they are now, at least not in the immediate.

One of Oprah Winfrey’s popular quotes is “luck is when preparation meets opportunity”

A lot of businesses became more relevant last year sheerly by luck.
SANITIZERS & NOSE MASK companies definitely made a bang!
During the Dogecoin & Shiba Hype, Companies who had already listed these tokens made a lot of money.
In Nigeria, VPN companies got hundreds of thousands of new users because of the Twitter Ban.

Nobody knew this was going to happen but businesses profited from these, why? how? LUCK...

One of the many lessons the pandemic thought me is Luck can be a part of the Business plan.
There are a lot of Stories and Quotes that say luck is not a business strategy.
I beg to differ!
Luck is an actual phenomenal, that if channeled right, can be a Business strategy.

I am not advocating for one to sit at home and expect manna to fall from heaven.
There’s a word for that and that’s LAZY…

I mean Luck as a part of Product and Process Design thinking.
Luck as a part of the business strategy.
Consciously creating openings for luck.

For example;
If tasked to build a mobile app, and deciding to allow customers from all over the world to sign up versus having just my home country sign up.
I would 10 times choose to make an app that will allow the entire world onboard on the app.
This singular move can be the butterfly effect needed.

The real question is how can you apply it to yourself?
How can you build and build with the room for luck?
Luck can be a part of the Strategy!

STAY INSPIRED, DARE MIGHTY THINGS AND DO THE MOST!
